Interview with WOOVIN store Sneakermouse

Today we are having a conversation with Karim, the owner of Sneakermouse. His love for sneakers and his keen eye on trends within the sneaker world form the basis of our discussion. Together with Karim, we explore the story behind Sneakermouse and the sneaker market from his perspective as the founder.

How did your fascination for sneakers begin, and when did you realize it was more than just an interest?

It started in high school. I always wanted to wear sneakers that you didn’t see on everyone else. Models with bright colors or retro styles attracted me.

What was the first pair of sneakers you ever bought, and how did this influence your love for sneakers?

The first hyped sneaker I bought was the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 Vanta from 2022. My love for exclusive sneakers started here after I had to put in a lot of effort to get these sneakers. The attention I received afterwards and the compliments from every sneaker enthusiast whenever I wore them fueled my passion even more.

What inspired you to found Sneakermouse, and how did the idea come about?

Because I enjoy being creative with photos and videos, I started the Sneakermouse Instagram. Here, I could showcase my latest pairs and post fun, humorous video edits. This eventually grew into a business.

Can you share a moment when you were particularly proud of a milestone you achieved with Sneakermouse?

That milestone was this year. My goal for this year was to reach 10k followers on Instagram. The count was at 3,700 at the beginning of the year, and after a few viral videos, my followers skyrocketed. By the end of March, the count was at 40,000 on Instagram and 50,000 on TikTok!

How does Sneakermouse handle the ever-changing trends in the sneaker world to stay relevant?

I find it important to listen closely to the market and respond quickly. It’s crucial to pay attention to the models that are in demand. Once I’m convinced about a model, I aim to have it in stock as soon as possible. If it sells well, I scale up to include multiple colors. Additionally, I focus my content on these models.

What are your personal goals and ambitions regarding Sneakermouse, and how do you hope to achieve them?

To grow even more online by upgrading the website, creating more content for social media, and organizing giveaways.
