Sneaker trends to look out for this February

Every year, several sneaker trends come and go, and it’s always fun predicting what trends we will see next. With a busy month of releases ahead of us, here are a couple of our picks for the most exciting trends and events this February!

Valentine’s Day sneakers.

These days, February 14th is more than just a day for couples, it’s a highlight in the sneaker calendar as every brand tries to cash in on partners searching for romantic gifts for each other. And what better gift for a fellow sneaker lover than a pair of valentines themed kicks?! This year, we will see multiple Valentine’s themed Nike Dunk Lows. As well as a Nike Air Force 1 Low decked in red and white fluffy fabric. These new models will be available via our WOOVIN site alongside Valentine’s offerings of years past. For example, the women’s exclusive Jordan 1 Mid take on the theme from 2022.

Basketball sneakers

Whilst basketball sneakers are still dominating the retro market, it’s been a decade since performance basketball sneakers where top dogs. But, with the all-star game coming up, and sneaker brands with a couple of basketball-themed aces up their sleeve, we could see a fanfare around basketball sneakers this month that will be a welcome change. The highlight is the return of the Nike KD 4 , a beloved sneaker from 2011, in a classic “Galaxy” colorway. Few colorways touch the cultural impact of the Galaxy design. Most notably on the Nike Air Foamposite which inspired Nike’s designs for the 2012 All-Star Game. 12 years later, Nike’s top offering will be a retro of the Nike KD 4 “Galaxy.” A release that is sure to fetch high prices, in a similar vein to how retros of early Kobes did. Speaking of which, a new Kobe 8 Protro is also releasing this month. Making February a big month for Basketball sneaker fans.

The continuation of the platformed UGG and the non-sneaker

Uggs, specifically the UGG Tazz Slipper, have hit the sneaker world by storm over the past year. An impressive feat given they’re technically not sneakers. Its platformed sole adds an elevated look that particularly attracted wearers, something UGG has noticed and implemented on new styles. They recently released the Ultra Mini Platform Boot and platformed Mule trainer. Whilst the trend may not survive the summer, it will surely be a popular fixture throughout the spring months.

Furthermore, Crocs are also set for a big month, with their open-aired offerings returning after the winter weather. Two big collaborations this month, in the form of Naruto Shippuden and SpongeBob SquarePants, continue Crocs’ success. Particularly thanks to their ability not to take themselves too seriously. Bringing big franchises with their own fans to a universally loved model making a strong comeback is a winning formula. Especially with the attention to detail on the Classic Clogs, even down to the Jibbitz (the swappable rubber pieces that fit into the Clog’s ventilation holes.)
