Nike and Patta with a fresh addition to the iconic Waves series

The long-standing partnership between Nike and Patta continues with a fresh addition to the iconic Waves series. The Air Max 1 Patta Waves Hyper Crimson is expected to release in March 2026, bringing back the recognizable design language that made the previous drops instant classics.

Classic ’87 Shape – No Big Bubble

For this release, Nike and Patta stick to the original Air Max 1 ’87 construction, meaning no Big Bubble. The traditional proportions give the sneaker that timeless look purists appreciate, staying true to the roots of the silhouette.

The Signature Waves Mudguard

The standout feature is, once again, the wavy mudguard. This time it arrives in a bold Hyper Crimson tone, flowing from the toe box along the side panels and wrapping around the heel.

The rest of the upper keeps things clean and balanced with a mix of grey mesh and leather. A black Swoosh adds contrast, while subtle orange accents on the tongue and branding tie the entire colorway together.

Details & Heritage

Underfoot, the sneaker remains faithful to the Air Max 1 DNA, featuring a visible Air unit in the heel and a midsole/outsole combination in black, grey, and orange tones.

As seen in previous Patta collaborations, the pair is expected to include special accessories, reportedly including a gold bracelet featuring the Swoosh and the Surinamese flag, a nod to the heritage of Patta founders Edson Sabajo and Guillaume “Gee” Schmidt.
