LeBron
The Nike LeBron is the signature line of LeBron James, which has run with Nike since his first NBA season in 2003. A new numbered model appears every year, built for a player with his power and explosiveness. On WOOVIN the focus is currently on the LeBron 23, complemented by older generations and special editions.
LeBron James and Nike
LeBron James grew up in Akron, Ohio, and went straight from high school to the NBA in 2003, as the first pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Even before his debut he signed with Nike, and his first shoe, the Air Zoom Generation, came out that same year. He later played for the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers, won four NBA titles and in 2023 became the league’s all-time leading scorer.
In December 2015 Nike confirmed a lifetime partnership with James, reportedly the first in the brand’s history. That explains why the line continues every year without a break, now with more than twenty consecutive models.
Design and technology
The first LeBrons were high, sturdy shoes with plenty of cushioning, suited to a strong, heavy player. Later generations made the line lighter and lower; the LeBron 20 from 2022 is an example, a low shoe with a slim profile. The LeBron 23 from 2025 has a low cut, a midsole with ZoomX foam and a crown motif, a nod to James’ nickname ‘King James’.
Popular Nike LeBron colorways
These are the LeBrons viewed most on WOOVIN right now:
- LeBron 23 ‘The Chosen One and The One Who Chose’ – black with metallic gold and a translucent sole; ‘The Chosen One’ is the nickname James got as a schoolboy.
- LeBron 23 ‘Miami Twice’ – grey-blue with orange, mint and other bright accents.
- LeBron 23 ‘Old Glory’ – ivory white with gold, red and navy.
- LeBron 20 ‘All-Star’ – light blue with cream and grey.
- LeBron 23 ‘Stocking Stuffer’ – a festive version in red with a mix of colours.
LeBron or Kobe: which signature shoe suits you?
The Nike Kobe has traditionally been low, light and close to the ground, made for quick footwork. The LeBron is built for power and usually offers more cushioning and support under a heavier body. If you play physically and often land hard, a LeBron makes more sense; if agility is your priority, a Kobe suits you better. If you want a modern shoe with a calmer, retro look, also consider the Nike Book 1.
How does the Nike LeBron fit?
According to Nike and most retailers, the LeBron fits true to size, so your usual Nike size is the starting point. Because there is a new model every year, the fit does vary by generation: performance shoes like the LeBron deliberately wrap the midfoot tightly. If you have wide feet, or mainly wear it casually with thick socks, choose half a size up.
Buy the Nike LeBron at WOOVIN
At WOOVIN you will mainly find the LeBron 23, plus older generations such as the 20 and special editions. If you are going to play in them, choose a recent model in your own size; for the street, the eye-catching colours such as Miami Twice are the most fun. Check the sole on the 23: versions with ‘Translucent Outsole’ in the name have a see-through outsole.
