P-6000

The Nike P-6000 is a retro runner that brings back the look of Nike running shoes from the 2000s as an everyday sneaker. With its layered mesh, metallic overlays and chunky foam sole, it fits right into the trend for technical Y2K runners. It is popular with women and men who want a sporty shoe that does not shout.

The history of the Nike P-6000

The P-6000 is not a reissue of a single old model. Nike combined two running shoes from the Pegasus line in it: the Pegasus 25 and the Pegasus 2006. The P in the name refers to that Pegasus heritage. The shoe appeared around 2019 and, riding the rise of retro runners, became a permanent part of the range in the years that followed.

Design and materials

The upper is made of breathable mesh with horizontal and vertical synthetic leather overlays, often in silver or gold. Those lines wrap around the whole foot and give the shoe its typical 2000s look. Underneath sits a thick foam midsole that feels soft on long walks. Besides the standard version, there are editions in suede, Cordura and special SE and Premium releases.

What is the difference between the P-6000 and the Vomero 5?

Both are retro runners with mesh and silver accents, but they are built differently. The Nike Vomero 5 has more layered plastic parts, a cage-like heel and Zoom Air cushioning, which makes it look more technical. The P-6000 is simpler in construction and has a slightly calmer silhouette. If you want a runner with visible Air, also take a look at the Nike Air Max.

How does the Nike P-6000 fit?

The Nike P-6000 generally fits true to size, so you can stick with your normal Nike size. The fit is average in width and the mesh gives a little. If you have wide feet or like wearing thick socks, you can consider going half a size up. Versions with (W) follow Nike’s women’s size chart; in EU sizes you simply choose your own size.
