1. How did your fascination with sneakers begin, and when did you realize it was more than just an interest?

Jeffrey: My fascination really began when I was in vocational school and attended a presentation by a former student who had started a sneaker store. From that moment, I knew this was something I wanted to do later. Eventually, I did my internship at that store, and during that time, I was already thinking about how I could pursue this in the future. In the end, I teamed up with Daan to start Kzbkicks.

Daan: I’ve always found sneakers incredibly cool, and as time went on, I started connecting with more and more people who were into sneakers. That was the moment when I wanted to get involved in selling them, especially since my collection kept growing.

2. What was the first pair of sneakers you ever bought, and how did it influence your love for sneakers?

Jeffrey: From a young age, I knew I really liked sneakers. I think I got my first pair of Nike Air Max 90s when I was 13, just starting high school. I remember how happy I was to get my first expensive pair of Nikes from my parents and how carefully I looked after them.

Daan: The first time I came into contact with sneakers was probably when I was about 10. I went to a sneaker store with my father, and he let me pick out a pair of sneakers. I ended up choosing a dark blue pair of Nike Air Max 1s.

3. What inspired you to start Kzbkicks, and how did the idea come about?

We met over 10 years ago in high school and became friends. In the years that followed, we both realized that we shared an interest in sneakers, especially exclusive pairs like the Yeezy Boost 350s and Yeezy Boost 700s at the time. We quickly noticed there was money to be made in this space. After about a year of occasionally participating in raffles, we thought it was the right moment to start a webshop and see if we could do more. Kzbkicks has now been around for about 3.5 years, and we’ve grown into a well-known Dutch sneaker webshop.

4. Can you share a moment when you were particularly proud of a milestone you achieved with Kzbkicks?

We are incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made over the past few years. Around the summer of 2023, we both quit our full-time jobs to dedicate as much time as possible to our business. This resulted in us signing the lease for our first office space in April 2024. Every day, we do our utmost to grow our company and keep moving forward.

5. How does Kzbkicks stay relevant with the constantly changing trends in the sneaker world?

New sneakers are released almost every day, and it’s our job to offer the coolest and most coveted releases on our webshop. We try to maintain fair and affordable prices on our site, and we also offer some of the less exclusive colorways, like those of the Nike Air Max 1, which is a very popular model. It comes in so many colors that we can also help people who have a smaller budget find a great pair of sneakers.

6. What are your goals and ambitions for Kzbkicks, and how do you plan to achieve them?

In the future, we hope to become one of the largest online sneaker webshops in the Netherlands. If everything goes well, we eventually hope to open a physical store as well. This means we’ll be working hard every day to achieve these goals as quickly as possible.

8. What does the ideal future for Kzbkicks look like?

As mentioned in question 6, we hope to have a physical store in the future and become one of the biggest webshops.

9. What projects does Kzbkicks have in the pipeline that we can expect soon?

We are currently working hard on growing our social media platforms. On our Instagram and TikTok (@Kzbkicks), we regularly post fun giveaways to give something back to our loyal followers.
