Air Pegasus 2K5
The Nike Air Peg 2K5 is the return of the Air Pegasus from 2005, a running shoe from the time when Nike runners were full of mesh and silver. In 2024 Nike brought the model back as an everyday sneaker, and since then it has become a regular name in the retro-runner trend. The history of the Air Peg 2K5
The Pegasus line itself goes back to 1983. The 2005 version was a typical runner of its time, with layered mesh and silver-coloured overlays. In 2023 COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS showed a monochrome version in its autumn/winter collection, and early in 2024 Nike re-released the shoe as the Air Pegasus 2005, often shortened to Air Peg 2K5.
Design and materials
The upper combines breathable mesh with synthetic overlays that run around the foot in lines, often in metallic silver. Below that sits a relatively slim foam sole with Nike Air cushioning. The shape is lower and narrower than on modern running shoes, which gives the 2K5 a streamlined look. Women’s versions with (W) often come in soft tones such as chrome and platinum.
