Dame
The adidas Dame is the signature line of NBA guard Damian Lillard, which adidas has been releasing since 2015. The shoes are known for their comfort and accessible character, and are worn on the court as well as off it. On WOOVIN you will mainly find the Dame 9, including the collaboration with BAPE, and the Dame 10.
The history of the adidas Dame
The first model was called the D Lillard 1. Its logo merges his initials D and L into a 0, the number on his jersey. Later versions simply carry the name Dame with a number.
After the Dame 8 it took almost three NBA seasons before a successor arrived; according to Lillard, the original design of the Dame 9 was scrapped. The Dame 9 was finally unveiled around NBA All-Star weekend in 2024. In July 2025 the Dame 10 followed, also written as Dame X: his tenth signature shoe with adidas.
Design and technology
Each Dame has its own look, but the line consistently puts comfort and wearability first. For the Dame 9, adidas replaced the Bounce foam of earlier Dames with a full-length Lightstrike midsole. Reviewers describe it as soft and stable rather than explosive, which suits players who like to feel the floor.
The Dame 10 is one of the most affordable signature models in the adidas Basketball range. Reviews praise it as light and breathable, with plenty of room for wider feet.
Popular adidas Dame colorways
The Dame regularly appears in themed and collaboration editions. These pairs are getting the most views on WOOVIN:
- Dame 9 BAPE ‘Black Red’: BAPE’s ABC camo in red tones with black, from the 2024 collaboration, with the Ape Head on the heel.
- Dame 9 BAPE ‘Black & Green’: the same collaboration in olive green camo.
- Dame 10 ‘All-Star’: a yellow toe that fades into bright orange, with a black tongue and collar.
- Dame 10 ‘Zero Metallic’: white and black with small Court Green accents.
- Dame 10 ‘Triple White’: completely white, the calmest version of the Dame 10.
Dame, Harden or AE: which adidas signature shoe suits you?
All three lines are made for guards, but each has its own character. The Dame focuses on comfort and is the most accessible of the three. The adidas Harden is built around control during stops and step-backs, while the adidas AE by Anthony Edwards looks the most muscular with its plastic side structure.
How does the adidas Dame fit?
Reviewers find the Dame 9 slightly long, and many players with narrow or regular feet go half a size down. With wide feet, stay with your usual adidas size, as the line leaves room for a wider foot. Reviews of the Dame 10 point the same way: comfortable for wide feet, while narrow feet often prefer half a size smaller.
