The UGG Tazz is the familiar Tasman slipper on a platform sole: the same suede upper and woven trim, but noticeably higher. That makes it feel like a warm slipper while looking like a chunky shoe. The Tazz is one of the most sought-after models from UGG in recent years, especially among women.

The history of the UGG Tazz

The Tazz builds on the UGG Tasman, a low slipper that has been in the range for years. UGG put that Tasman on a thick platform sole, just as platform shoes and raised UGG models were becoming popular again. Through social media the Tazz quickly grew into a recognisable winter item.

Design and materials

The upper is made of suede, with a soft wool lining inside that keeps you warm and moulds to your foot. Around the opening sits the signature Tasman braid, a woven band with a retro pattern. The platform sole gives you a few centimetres of extra height and has tread, so you can wear the Tazz outdoors too.

There are also editions with a different braid, such as the Heritage Braid, and versions with a print. UGG has also released spin-off models such as the Tazzelle and the Tazzlita.

The Tazz Sand is light beige and pairs well with cream and other soft tones. Mustard Seed has an ochre-yellow, earthy colour, and the Tazz Chestnut is the cognac-brown suede you know from UGG. The Heritage Braid Natural combines a light base with a different braid, and the Tazz Black is the most understated version.

What is the difference between the UGG Tazz and the Tasman?

The upper, the lining and the braid are almost identical. The difference is under your foot: the Tasman sits almost flat on the ground, the Tazz on a platform. How does the UGG Tazz fit?

The UGG Tazz usually fits true to size, so order your normal size. It is only made in whole sizes. If the size is too roomy your heel can lift a little when you walk, so if you are between sizes and wear it without socks, take the smaller one. With wide feet or thick socks, the larger size is more comfortable.
