The On Cloudtilt is a light lifestyle sneaker for walking, travelling and long days on your feet. It is not made for running fast, but for rolling through each step as smoothly as possible. With its clean, minimalist shape the Cloudtilt is one of the best-known lifestyle models from On.

The history of the On Cloudtilt

The Cloudtilt first appeared in October 2023, as a collaboration between On and the Spanish fashion house LOEWE. It was On’s first lifestyle shoe with CloudTec Phase. On then followed with its own version in calmer colours, which was quickly picked up by people looking for a comfortable everyday shoe. Variants such as the Cloudtilt Arc followed later.

Design and technology

CloudTec Phase is a midsole with clouds that compress one after another, from heel to toe. That makes every step feel like one fluid movement. The foam is Helion, light and springy. Unlike many On running shoes, there is no Speedboard in the sole.

The upper is made of breathable mesh, with elastic laces that let you wear the Cloudtilt as a slip-on. That is handy when travelling, for example when you have to take your shoes off at airport security.

Popular On Cloudtilt colorways

The Cloudtilt Black Asphalt combines black with dark grey. The Pearl Ice and the Glacier Ice are light variants, while the Black Ivory alternates black with off-white. The Olive Desert brings a green, earthy tone.

What is the difference between the On Cloudtilt and the Cloud 6?

Both are suitable for everyday wear, but the Cloud 6 has a Speedboard and is also meant for short runs. The Cloudtilt lacks that plate and rolls through more softly, which makes it especially pleasant for walking and standing for long periods. The Cloudmonster is the real running shoe of the three, with the most cushioning.

How does the On Cloudtilt fit?

The On Cloudtilt fits true to size for most feet, with a secure hold around the midfoot. The forefoot can feel a little tight, though. If you have wide feet, go half a size up. Because elastic laces are less adjustable than regular ones, getting the right size matters more than usual with this model.
