ReactX Rejuven8
The Nike ReactX Rejuven8 is a recovery shoe from Nike, made for the moments after exercise. The slide is the most popular version: a slip-on of soft ReactX foam that you wear after training, at home or for short trips outside. With its thick, rounded shape it also fits the trend for comfortable slides and clogs.
Where does the name Rejuven8 come from?
Rejuven8 is a play on ‘rejuvenate’. Nike already used the name for a recovery shoe in the late 2000s, and that old shape recently returned as the Rejuven8 Run OG. The ReactX Rejuven8 is the modern branch of the family: the same idea of recovery, but with today’s foam.
The thinking behind it is simple. After a game or a long working day, you want something on your feet that is soft and roomy and that you can slip on without laces.
Design and ReactX foam
The upper and midsole are made of ReactX, the successor to Nike’s React foam. The foam feels soft but also springs back, so your feet can relax without sinking in. Under the slide is a rubber outsole that gives grip, even on wet or slippery floors. The wide strap across the foot has ventilation holes and leaves extra room at the forefoot.
Most versions are tonal, with a small Swoosh as the only logo. That makes the slide easy to pair with joggers, shorts or a summer outfit.
Popular Nike ReactX Rejuven8 colorways
These are the Rejuven8 versions that are currently most popular on WOOVIN:
- ReactX Rejuven8 Slide ‘Summit White’: all off-white.
- ReactX Rejuven8 ‘Apricot Agate’ (W): apricot with a light pink-orange tint.
- ReactX Rejuven8 Slide ‘Khaki’: all khaki, a calm earth tone.
- ReactX Rejuven8 ‘Sail’ (W): tonal in a soft cream colour.
- ReactX Rejuven8 Slide .SWOOSH ‘Touch Grass’ Kelly Green: grass green with brown and yellow accents.
What is the difference between the Rejuven8 and other slides?
Many slides have a flat footbed with a separate strap. The Rejuven8 is thicker and softer, and the upper is made of foam too, so it feels more like a recovery shoe. In shape it is reminiscent of the Yeezy Slide, which is also made from a single piece of foam. The Nike Mind 001 takes a different approach, with a footbed of separate nodes. If you want a closed slip-on, the Crocs Classic Clog is a well-known alternative.
How does the Nike ReactX Rejuven8 fit?
Nike deliberately gives the Rejuven8 extra room at the forefoot, so it suits different foot widths. If you wear it barefoot, you usually pick your regular Nike size. Buyer experiences do vary: if you like to wear the slide with socks, or you are between two sizes, take the larger size. The (W) versions are women’s models and follow Nike’s women’s sizes.
