The Jordan 1 Retro High OG Lucky Green is releasing on April 15th. The second Jordan 1 release of the month is a new green, white and black Jordan 1. Paired with classic color blocking, few things can match the hype a Jordan 1 like this creates. On top for the last few years, Jordan isn’t slowing down their output any time soon. But, if we keep getting sneakers like the upcoming Jordan 1 Lucky Green, it’s hard to complain.
What you need to know
The sneaker comes in a white leather base, with black overlays on the toe guard, around the eyelets and collar. Green detailing is present around the top 2 eyelets on the collar, and on the heel guard. The sole is no different, the midsole covered in white, alongside a green outsole. The silhouette therefore effectively creates a Boston Celtics version of the iconic Jordan 1 Retro High Black Toe. This follows Jordan’s popular formula at the moment: to take popular color blocking from OG pairs and remaster them with new and refreshing colors. In doing so, offering something we know we like, but with enough change to keep us coming back.
This is the second time we have received a “lucky green” Jordan 1 High. The first released as a women’s exclusive, and without the black detailing present on this version. And before that, the pine green Jordan 1s were successful with a similar colorway and a darker shade of green detailing. But the 2023 “Lucky Green” 1s share the most in common with the Jordan 1 High Defining Moments Celtics pair. Featuring the same colorway and hue of green, the only difference is the model. Since the pair released in 2009, before the OG High version of the Air Jordan 1 was created. The main difference comes in the form of Jumpman branding on the tongue and heel. 2023’s version will therefore offer the same colorway but on the more popular OG High version of the Jordan 1.
